About the BJCC

The Blacksburg Jewish Community Center was organized in the early 1970’s and moved into its permanent home in 1979.  We are the New River Valley’s synagogue and center for local Jewish life. We are a lay-led, all volunteer community. We warmly welcome the participation of all local Jews of every background.

We welcome visitors! Please join us for Shabbat services or for our monthly potluck lunch or one of our other activities. Our upcoming activities can be found in our Calendar and in our newsletter, The Shofar. The sanctuary is wheelchair accessible. Please contact us if you require assistance.

Shabbat morning services are held every Saturday throughout the year, starting at 10 am. Once a month, we enjoy a vegetarian/dairy potluck lunch after services. Visitors are most welcome.

In addition to worship services, we provide a religious Sunday school and other activities meant to enrich Jewish life in the New River Valley.

If you’re interested in Virginia Tech Hillel, they are located at the Malcolm Rosenberg Hillel Center, 710 Tom’s Creek Road, Blacksburg, VA, 24060.
