High Holidays

The BJCC will provide remote High Holiday services this year, via Zoom, on Erev Rosh Hashanah; the first day of Rosh Hashanah; Erev Yom Kippur (the Kol Nidrei service); Yom Kippur morning; and the Yom Kippur closing service. The on-line services closely follow our Reform machzor and include full transliteration.

The BJCC’s Zoom license permits up to 100 participants, and BJCC members have priority. If you would like to be a guest at our services, please contact BJCC Religion Chair Muriel Kranowski (murielk at vt.edu), to request a spot. We’ll let you know if you have secured a place. Please include your full name and briefly say why you would like to participate in our service, and mention that you saw this on our website.

Cantor Irv Gertner will again chant most of our services, with our members also participating. We are truly a congregation whose members make everything happen, including the High Holy Days.

If you can donate to the BJCC to help support our putting on these services, please mail a check (memo “HHD services”) to BJCC Treasurer, PO Box 782, Blacksburg, VA 24063, or use the Payment Instructions below, indicating “HHD services” in the “Add a Note” field. We will very much appreciate your generosity!
